一番有力なのはアメリカ人のメアリー・フライのようです。
沢山の言葉に訳されて癒しの曲として歌われています。
戦争や、事故、病気で愛する人を亡くした人たちがこの詩を口ずさみ、心の傷を癒しています。
彼女は主婦であり、詩人でした。享年９９歳でした。
